The Princess of Cups

The Princess of Cups card shows a picture of a beautiful blonde Princess. She is depicted sitting on a white dolphin jumping out of the sea while holding a goblet or cup.
This Princess card is often found in other tarot decks as a knave or page.

The princess is a youngster with all the beauty and innocence of youth. She is pictured totally naked and yet unashamed, with nothing to hide.
This could indicate that she has given material possessions away and shows a personality trait of generosity.
The card can also sometimes mean that a message is to come.

The princess is shown emptying her cup of water into the sea. This action would disturb the water, and this could symbolise the disturbance of the unconscious mind in order to allow deep thoughts and collective experience to be able to be tapped into. This could mean that our intuition could be encouraged to develop now.
The card can also indicate the presence of a student, with the suggestion of a youthful being.
It can also show a creative individual.
So, all in all, this card is a nice one to draw from the deck.

Cups- the suit of love and emotions- the 5 of cups

The image on the tarot card for the 5 of Cups in the Truthseekers tarot deck shows a circular table set in a hall next to a harbour.
Several windows open out onto the harbour and on the sea two galleons sail towards each other in the distance.
On the table stand 5 golden goblets full of water, balanced precariously upon each other.

The very act of balancing goblets indicates some sort of risk taking behaviour. And as the suit of Cups is inextricably linked with love and the emotions and feelings of love, which are so strong, then could it be that the risk is linked with love?

It can be a very risky business falling in love with someone.
Do they love us back? Are we going too fast?
Are we wearing our heart on our sleeves?

It can be risky to declare our love for someone and having to wait to see if that love is reciprocated.

It can also be painful to be in love with someone for we feel their disappointments in life experiences almost more keenly than they do!

Yes, love is risky.
It is a risk to ones pride and to our feelings to declare our love for someone, but a fulfilled life has to have some element of risk and courage in it.
But when love is reciprocated, and when things are good then the advantages of love are massive.

The Ace of Swords.

I know we have looked at the Ace of Swords before, but for me this card is relevant, especially today.

The picture on the Minor Arcana card of the Ace of Swords ( the intellectual, thought ridden suit) shows a gateway from the city. It sits in a stone wall, big and seemingly unsurpassable.
In the distance, beyond the wall, lies a lovely path, wending its way into the sunny distance between young trees leading to the promise of happy times.
The gate is formed from wood and is solid and sturdy. A single golden sword embellished with blue enamel blocks the way. It is point down, materially set in its position.

The sword is symbollic of something blocking our way ahead to the promise of a brighter future potentially.
However, even if this one gate is blocked and locked to us, it does not mean that our passage is blocked altogether. If we use our linear thinking , then we can potentially discover another way around the problem and find a solution to discovering a way forward.
It can also mean emails and that is what it has meant for me today.

I received an email and had the opportunity to contribute to issues affecting the community which I live in.So, prompted, I gave my opinion. And you never know, it might help and it felt good to participate.

The 5 of Wands.

The tarot card I have drawn out today from the deck is the 5 of Wands.

The image on this card from the suit of Wands in the Minor arcana depicts a hot desert like scenario where a tent structure is raised in the burning hot heat on the parched scorched vegetation.
The tent is supported by 5 golden wands and protects a small area beneath which has a few small flowers in the shade.

This suit of Wands shows the presence of a person of a fire sign-Leo,Aries or Sagittarius, who may be in your circle.
There is a lot of intuition and instinctive action with this suit and a lot of ambition and burning passion in the heart.

With this card, there is an element of risk from the sun and the weather conditions. However, this is protected in this instance by the knowledge of this card. Someone in this image has been able to erect a functional but basic place of refuge for someone in the hot weather and this acts as a form of protection for them.
So, to recap, these wands suggest that there may be a risky time ahead but being forewarned a few basic precautions may be taken to reduce this risk, which may be weather linked.

Justice.

Number 11 in the Major Arcana of the Tarot deck is the Justice card.

In this deck, the picture of Justice shows a dark haired woman dressed in a red simple gown sat upon a marble throne. A red cap adorns her head. In her left hand she holds a golden sword. In her right hand is a set of golden scales.

The look upon the womans face appears to see straight through you. She is stern faced. It feels as though there is nowhere to hide from this womans gaze. She seems to have the ability to see straight through to the crux of the matter and is not under any false impression about a situation or a person.
She metes out her judgement by using her scales, which measure good deeds set against bad deeds, and which help determine whether a person is at heart a good or not so good person.The scales help determine the value of something.
The sword of truth in her left hand is pointing towards the heavens and this sword has the spiritual ability to cut through all the lies and untruths or ignorance about a matter and gets right to the truth lying at the heart of a situation.

This card shows us the truth of the matter in question.

Todays Tarot card- the Eight of Swords.

Todays Tarot card I have drawn from the deck is the Eight of Swords.

The image on this card shows a figure of 8 formed from some barbed golden bramble or somesuch material, with 8 upwardly pointing swords within it.
The figure of 8 is held within a stone room with a window. Either side of the window stand two knights in armour, but we cannot see if the suits are full or not. Sunlight pours in through the window and illuminates the scene.

The number 8 has a meaning of unity- there is balance and harmony as the bottom and top halves of the figure are equal.
But this symbol also has a meaning of infinity, of everlastingness.

With this card, the presence of the guards and the fact that the swords are within the symbol of 8,the feeling of being trapped or confined within a space are strong. It may be that you feel as though you have limited options to feel more free in your relationship or job or whatever it is in your life that makes you feel confined or limited.
The card also has the hope from the sunlight. It cannot be confined, it is free to go wherever it likes as long as there is an aperture for it to shine through. This indicates that you have a chance to feel less constricted especially if you can use your intuition to help guide you through your choices in life.

The Four of Swords

The Four of Swords is the tarot card that was extremely eager to be picked out today.
Basically, when I think about the four of Swords I think about a home.
The layout of the four swords in the tarot picture I have before me creates a loose approximation of the four walls of a house.

And in our homes, that is where we feel most comfortable and secure. We can rest our weary bones,and relax and just contemplate and reflect on the happenings of the day. It sometimes does us good to rest and get our breath back if we have just had a heated day at work or if we have had a difference of opinion with someone. We often come to a different conclusion or find a different solution to a problem if we give ourselves time to think it over and not act hastily or act in the moment.

So, in a nutshell, the four of swords signifies to me the importance of a home, of rest,and the importance of no acting hastily and of sleeping on a decision.

Just lately, in my home I have been taking advantage of the hedgerow fruits. I have several bottles of sloe gin steeping, a demi-john of blackberry wine and a harvest of elderberries in the freezer awaiting their turn for the fermenting bin. Hopefully they'll turn out ok and at least they should be tasty and full of flavour.

The benefits of a Tarot card reading.
These may be evident in several ways.

The Four of Pentacles.

If ever there was a card which suggested that there was the ideal personality to have, then this is it.

The Four of Pentacles has a picture which shows a copse of fruiting trees with birds flying in between the trees and the four pentacles suspended in the foreground.

The fruiting trees remind me that with the suit of Pentacles everything is connected to the raw elements of nature and of the earth.
After this woodland has been managed the trees have come to fruitition and are bearing their fruits as a reward to the woodsmen who are free to reap the crop.

It is the same in life.

After a while of working hard, or of saving as much money as possible by careful shopping and coupon cutting, then we can reap our rewards by knowing that we have saved money both actually, in our savings, or by displaying the ability to make careful purchases leaving more of our money free for the things that we need to spend money on and for bills.
This card suggests that the person connected to it in a reading will be a reliable person who is sought out for their knowledge by others.

They also have a wicked humour and the ability to see the ridiculous in situations- a real good laugh to have around!
That's it then, the perfect personality- the ability to be thrifty, a person of knowledge sought out by others together with a sense of humour so good that a laugh is always near at hand.

The popular Tarot deck from the 15th Century. Visconti-Sforza deck.

The beautiful imagery on Tarot cards has developed over the centuries. One of the most famous decks was thought to have been commissioned by one of the most influential families in Italy, the Visconti-Sforzas. It is sometimes called the Bembo deck as this was the artist who fashioned the paintings.
If anyone has been watching the scintillating Borgias drama on Saturdays the clothing fashions seem to be quite familiar, especially the male fashions, and appear to be similar to some of those on the deck, albeit a lot brighter in colour.

There are a few differences from current decks.

The icons for coins, representing the merchant class of society, were apparent instead of the current pentacle motif.
The icons for wands or batons represented the kindling wood which the peasant class of society gathered for their own use.
Swords represented the nobility or higher classes and the chalice or goblet/cup represented the chalice used in communion and therefore the upper class in society, the clergy.
Another difference is the loss (deliberate or accidental, there is no definitive explanation) of two of the Major Arcana cards, the Tower and the Devil.

It may be that those two cards from the more elaborately decorated arcana were perceived as a threat and removed from this tarot deck in the times of Papal Bulls outlining the expectation for Princes of Christian lands to lay down the law and bring their subjects into line regarding religious piety and abhoring the use of practices deemed to be linked to witchcraft, sorcery or soothsaying. At any rate, Visconti-Sforza tarot decks are available with novel additions to replace the missing two cards.

I feel that the Tarot deck is a beautiful work of art which has transcended the centuries and retains its attraction on several levels.

Number 21 in the Major Arcana- The World.

As the change in world events take centre stage, the tarot card which I have drawn today is The World.
In a Tarot card reading, the elaborate World card, number 21 in the Major Arcana, would have a greater importance than the pips of the Minor Arcana.
Sometimes, when we have a reading and a Major Arcana card is evident in perhaps the present position, this can indicate that the problem or situation is greatly playing on the querants mind at the present moment in time.

The Truth Seekers Tarot image for the World card shows an elaborate image of a wicker oval frame woven with golden, thick ribbon. This oval frame symbolises infinity. At each corner of the card is a symbol- a prince, an eagle, an ox and a lion which represent humanity, strength, spirituality and courage. The centre of the frame holds a bare breasted brown haired woman who has her modesty hidden by a purple length of cloth. She holds a wand in her hand which points skyward and earthward simultaneously which can suggest the link between heaven and earth. She is smiling sweetly.

This card is at the very end of the journey along the Major Arcana for the Fool who started the journey. This card represents the knowledge and skill that we who have joined the Fool along the way through the Major Arcana have gained. We have had the opportunity to develop our instinct and intuition and have had our conscience pricked at times, in order to encourage us to think about how others perceive us and about how we truly treat our friends, colleagues and family.
This isn't the total end of the Tarot journey, however and we have plenty of scope for further spiritual development and learning. Practice and use of the Tarot deck to help us concentrate on the situations around us, can assist in discovering the options open to us.

The Prince of Wands- a noble court card

The Prince of Wands is a card which just oozes masculinity!
The picture on the card shows a blonde prince leading a brown horse along a path edged with wands.
He holds a golden wand in his right hand, almost as a weapon ready to defend himself.
He has an aura about him. He really is into his spirituality and won't belittle what you think about using your intuition or going on your first instincts because that is what he does too!
He is very into his creativity and he is a true gentleman. This chap will open doors for you and be attentive.
He has a dedicated love of fast machinery-boats, horses and horsepower and of course, cars and motor bikes. He probably goes to the TT races or the Formula One races!
He is a noble chap.
Someone who is old fashioned but who is personable and is a noble man to have around.

Love!
That's what immediately came to my mind when I saw the card which came out from the deck tonight!
The card is the two of cups.
As the suit of cups has connections to the emotions and to feelings then the emotion of love is not far away.
The image is of two goblets set upon a wooden table in front of a river lined hillock.
The image of two goblets immediately sets us upon thinking about what links two together? Two in a relationship, two in love, two in a friendship.

This card could intimate a meeting between two people.
Could it be an intimate dinner for two?
Or a meeting to discuss the issues that link these two people together?
Or is it the more likely?
Two lovers meeting for a romantic meal before they discuss their lives together and the potential for a wonderful relationship and fellowship.

The three of wands illustration on this set of tarot cards shows a set of three wands with some new growth in the form of leaves on their tops. They are in front of a volcano which is in the initial early stages of a volcanic eruption of lava.
The number three represents the trinity-the holy ghost, holy father and son of god.
As the suit of wands stands for creativity and passion-burning with the element of fire- then this card represents creativity.

In the picture, the volcano is in the initial stage of eruption. This early eruption formation on the card represents the early stages of creativity.

This suggests that the person has the ability to create things from early on in their conception-the person can either invent something or can run with the kernel of an idea and develop this to its outcome and finished product or service.

Countryside foraging and the Prince of Swords.

First of all I have to tell you about my foraging in the countryside today.
We are going to have a go at making sloe gin this year ready for a Christmas warmer drink.
But, after listening to folk describe them, we didn't actually know what a sloe tree looked like.
Until my aunt and cousin showed us the sloes that they had harvested yesterday morning!To my suprise and feeling silly, I realised that I had at least three trees bearing sloes nearby and today I have gathered them. We have also located a few more trees within a mile of our home as well! I can't actually believe that I had overlooked them before!

The tarot card that I have drawn today is the Prince of Swords.
The image on the card depicts a blonde handsome young man. He is walking alongside his horse and is gazing back looking longingly at the walled city that he has left.
He is aware, or seems to be aware by his gaze that he is not going to lay eyes on his homecity for a long time. He is literally drinking in the sight of the city with his eyes and is making a mental picture of this place.He is also thinking deeply about all the loved ones and friends that he is leaving behind in the place and is aware that when he returns he will have been made a different person by his experiences.

This prince of men is holding a sheathed sword and this can represent the training and skill of a soldier or member of the armed forces who has the knowledge of how to harm someone but also has this tempered by the knowledge of when to use force and how to show restraint and mercy.
This man can also be headstrong and often thinks that he knows better than anyone else!
And now, to give you a touch of knowledge, here is the recipe for sloe gin.

Get a bottle.
Clean it.
Fill it half full of cleaned sloes that have been picked after the first frost (or have been put in the freezer to mimic that), and have been pricked to pierce the strong skin.
Add enough sugar to fill the bottle half full and add a further half a bottle of gin making enough room in the bottle by dissolving the sugar by agitating the bottle. Seal the bottle with a stopper or cap and agitate the bottle every few days for the next three months. Strain the mixture into another clean bottle and it is ready to serve as a winter warming liquer.

Sometimes, it is right for a person to find a new path.
For whatever reason, be it in their career or love life, they may not feel satisfaction by what they are exposed to and they need a boost.

I'm aware that at this time there will be many young folk needing guidance for their choices in university or college options.
And others may have been forced to find new career paths simply because they have been made redundant or their workplaces may have closed down.

It is never easy, but it is possible to re create your future career path.
You never know-this might be the opportunity that you have always dreamt about but never had the confidence to try.

The Wheel of Fortune

The image on this card shows a wheel which is attached to a turning handle. Even though there is no one there to turn the wheel, the wheel is still turning around through the speed of its own momentum.

Upon the wheel are three creatures. A monkey, a sphinx and a hare.

The creatures on this wheel appear to be representative of the spirituality, cleverness and ability to adapt to situations.

At any point or at any time the wheel may stop and if we are on the wheel then we make get off of it, or we may choose when we want to stop the wheel ourselves.

This card is connected to our ability to control the situations which occur around us.
If something is happening that we don't condone, then we do not have to go along with it just because we are there.
We are in control of our own free will and have the ability to leave the situation or do something a bit more suited to ourselves and our own personality.

The Hanged Man.

This Tarot card is number 12 in the Major Arcana.

It is about halfway through this arcana, and the traveller will have had some insight into themselves and their behaviour and may be more receptive to change or alteration of their own behaviour ( we have very little influence on the behaviours of others, realistically).

The picture on the Tarot card illustrates a man. He is upside down suspended by his ankle from a pole slung between two trees-the tree of knowledge and the tree of life. His hands are behind his back and his face does not looked scared and he has a halo around his head.

His right leg is crossed at the knee and forms a number 4 with the other leg.

In ancient days, when a debtor could not pay off their debts this was a punishment given to them to show all and sundry that they had bad debts and couldn't be trusted.
In the tarot deck, this card is a positive card and not at all intimidating.
The new knowledge that the hanged man has absorbed from being between the tree of knowledge and the tree of life has given him a new insight into himself.
He will be ready to start again refreshed and renewed when he is cut down from the pole.
His slate will be clean.
No more debt.

So, in short, the Hanged man is a positive card which is a sign for a new start for the person in question.

More Pentacles! The Two of Pentacles

The Two of Pentacles has a picture on it that shows a spiritual holy place. There are stained glass windows at one end of the chapel like room with trees picked out in the different shades of green. An altar is in the centre of the room, emphasising the reverence belonging to this site.
Almost unseen, two pentacles are at the top of the picture. They are in symmetry. This seems to suggest perfect balance with this card.

The suit of Pentacles was originally that of coins, reminiscent of the merchants that it once represented.
This 'balance' of the pentacles may suggest that there is a stability in the financial state of the person involved, or that more of a balance in finances is to be achieved.
So, all in all harmony is the watchword with this card.

Just to illustrate that I have found a photo of beautiful Brodsworth Hall in Yorkshire. There are several marble or stone greyhounds decorating the exterior, as they are incorporated into the familys coat of arms.
I found these two to represent the number two.

A Court Card- The King of Pentacles.

Court cards in a Tarot deck hold a little more significance to them in a reading than an ordinary Pip, or numbered, card.
The King, being at the top of the hierarchy of the court, therefore has most importance.

The King of Pentacles is depicted in an image on this Tarot deck as a friendly older man.
He sits astride his horse, very well balanced and totally in control of the animal. He holds a shield formed from a pentacle in his hand.
All around him are the symbols which are pertinent to the suit of Pentacles- greenwood trees, the grass, laurel leaves which signify a great leader of men and a winner to boot.

The King wears his crown, but it does not appear to be 'flaunted'. This King could hold a conversation with the common man as well as with the nobility. He has the properties in his character of fairness, approachability and likeability.

This King in particular is a learned man.
He enjoys science-particularly when it is used for environmental causes, such as renewable energy. He is interested in all the revolutionary new gadgets and discoveries and keeps up to date with modern day technology.
He is wise and secure in himself-he has achieved much and is sure of himself and has no doubts about his abilities.

The King is also shown in the image as being in control of his horse and is balanced perfectly and this indicates that in true life this man is a balanced character with an even-tempered personality.

Yes, this King is older, but he has the experience of his years and that's very appealing in itself!

The 3 of Cups

Picture- Mock up of the Cavern in Liverpool where many have celebrated events.
The three of Cups is a card which has an image upon it showing 3 golden goblets set upon a table in the foreground of a set of hillocks with rivulets running around it from a lake in the mountainside.
A set of clouds are in the sky and rainfall continues to fill up the lake.

The cups set on the table remind us that we are dependent upon so many things to keep healthy and well. We cannot see inside these goblets but they will have some water in them.
Now the human body can cope without food for several days( do not test this) but without water for even a fraction of this time will harm the body.
Water is simply a life preserver, and this card reminds us of this. It can also be a reminder that the other things that make life worth living may be connected to this card- laughter, friends, hobbies- just the stuff that makes life more worthwhile and fun to be in , as well as the serious stuff such as water.

This card can also be an indicator of happenings just around the corner. In our family this time of year is a cornucopia of parties and celebrations- birthdays and anniversaries in particular. The table in this card is so full of goblets that there is little room for anything else, and this is reflected in our social diaries! There are so many celebrations in different branches of our extended families that there is scant time for anything else this month!
So, if it is your birthday this month, or your anniversary, have a good time and enjoy yourselves!

The Cat and The Tower.

I am totally enjoying immersing myself in the experience of having a cat ( on holiday with us while her parents are on theirs) for a short while.
We can't really have any more while we live ,paradoxically, in a village but with a busy main road.
The cats we had were free spirits who wilfully ignored the miles of woodland and fields behind us and danced recklessly along the dotted white line leading to inevitable consequences!
So it's nice to have Ella. I'll post photos soon!

The Tower card.
I know we've had this card before, but sometimes you can spot something else. And it never harms to recap!

The image on the card has a very strong sense of fire about it. Fire breaks the tower formed of stone in two.
A man and a woman plunge from the rent towards the ground.
Their faces show no fear and no real expression. A river flows beyond the tower. The sun beats down strongly on the scene, adding more heat.

There is a strong sense of masculinity to this card, in the background. There is the male symbol of the sun, the man and the single rising tower shape.
Traditionally, this card is linked with change.
But nothing is ever static. Our hearts beat, our cells change and the world around us changes in seasons, governments and laws.

He is clothed in a poor robe. A genuine hoody he sports a hood attached to his robe. In one hand he holds a staff. He is sad looking and is a bearded figure.

This Hermit reminds us that in the end,we are all alone. We cannot have friends or neighbours or family with us all the time, even in sad and difficult hours.
We are like the Hermit then, at points in our life.
We stumble along the path- not knowing what is going to happen, and not knowing what we are about to bump into.
The hermit in the picture shows us that we can light our path by using our intuition and our instinct. We can at least get some sort of idea of what may come our way.
We are reminded that material possessions are not comfort in truly stressful times when we need to be spiritual instead.
This hermit has very few possessions but still he goes on.

This pentacle is in a prime spot.
It has a prime number. And is at the number one spot.

The image on this card shows a tower made from stone. It has been built with its foundations deep inside the earth.
The tower looms up from the earth into a sunny day with a vista of pastureland and growth.

The sun is in the background shining down upon all that it surveys.

Within the tower is a pentacle. It is half way up and halfway down the steps in the tower.

I very much feel as though the pentacle in this picture is steadily making its way up towards the door which opens on to the pastureland.
I feel that this is echoed in the reading for a querant-that they are in the transitional phase of growth,of striving forwards and getting onwards and upwards in their lives.
When this transitional phase is complete, there will be an element of being at least comfortable in their material world.

There is something about the person and this card that makes ones eyes draw to the centre of the card. It is as though the person is captivating. If they say something, everyone hangs upon their every word. They are fun to be around and always act or have something of importance to impart.
And that is my interpretation of the Ace of Pentacles.

The Magician

The magician is the very first numbered card that the fool meets on his tarot journey.

This magician is no modern artiste-he is the real deal of an old, traditionalist Magician plucked straight from centuries ago.

He wears a hat which has a figure of Eight, which represents infinity, within it.
He holds a magic wand that points at the earth and to the skies and the heavens at the same time.
A table in front of him levitates off of the ground. Upon this table is an example of each suit- a wand, a goblet,a sword and a pentacle.

This magician is smiling as he knows that he is aware of something that we are not aware of and he cannot keep this knowledge from his face-he is smug!

There are things hidden here that we cannot see.

He may have a cornucopia of material possessions up his voluminous sleeves.
His cloak may hide a mass of stuff!
But he isn't showing us this hidden matter yet.

And what is this hidden stuff?
It could be something that we have lost a while ago ( just have another quick look-you might find it this time!).

Or it might be some skill that you have put to the back of your mind that the magician card is showing you 'Perhaps it is time to practice your skill again and show us what special skill you have' might be what the magician is prompting from you.

This is a magical card.
Perhaps it will be a magical day.

The Prince of Wands ( though Judgement tried to pop out again!)

When I shuffled, cut the deck three times and drew a card out from the Tarot deck the card of Judgement came out again!
Now, I have already written about the Judgement card yesterday, so it would be unfair for me to inflict this card on you again, but it does seem to be a reappearing theme.

Repeated, the card I drew this time is the Prince of Wands.
Now this man is a young fellow.He leads his skittish horse along a path edged with wands. He is holding a wand up in his right hand in a position that reminds me of a torch, though it isn't lit.
The Prince is looking around in front of him, appearing to be looking out for something.
The air appears to have an aura about it. This may suggest that the Prince is in a state of heightened awareness of everything around him. You know that feeling you get when the hairs on the back of your neck are up?

This Prince is a man with great intuition. He is a lover of fast-moving horses and machines that use horse-power in their engines. Definitely a petrol-head!
But in this picture he is not on his horse and he seems to be taking it slowly. Does he have a new found respect for speed and what it can do?

He is also a gentleman.
A true gentleman.
He will open doors for you and lead you strongly along the way. Perhaps to the point of it being irritating for you sometimes.
But most of the time it is nice to be shown a speck of respect from someone who is such a passionate man and he is noble with it.
He will look after you.

The Judgement Tarot Card.

Judgement is horribly apt at the moment in the world.

However, the Judgement card in the Tarot deck is not as frightening as it looks at first glance.

The picture on the card shows an angel of the Lord blowing the last trump on their horn to wake up all the dead and to make them come forward.
The foreground of the picture depicts a scene where the dead are awake, men and women, and are standing up asking questions of the angel.

What questions are they asking the angel?
What would we ask?Would we be asking what we had done wrong?

The meaning of this card could suggest that we are our own worst enemies at times, by over analysing our actions. We have a tendency in this modern world to scrutinise our every act and to be over critical of ourselves.
This trumpeteer sounding the last trump could be sounding out a wake up call to let us know that we are judging ourselves too harshly.

So, all in all, this card indicates that we should be as kind to ourselves as we are to others.

This card is number 18 in the Major Arcana.
The Moon.
The image on the card depicts a Moon shining down on a mirrored scene. One side of the image is the negative of the other.
There are two towers, with small differences in the window shapes.
A path dissects the hill that these towers are on.
On one side of the path is a white female dog, obviously having just whelped. Across from her is a black dog-the male.
A dark sea lies at the base of the hill and from this sea, signifying the depth of our unconscious mind, a lobster crawls.
This card has strong links to femininity.
The intuitive side of women is strong with this card.
We are encouraged to develop this ability-to practice it.
If we get a feeling about something then we ought to act on it.
You know what it's like. Someone suggests something and somehow, in the back of your mind you think, this isn't quite right.
But sometimes we get persuaded to go along with the herd with their decision.

Another Princess has been drawn from the Tarot deck today.In this deck the Princess card is in the place of a knave or a page in other decks.

This card is the Princess of Pentacles.
This card shows a blonde haired young woman sat in a glade with deer behind her and she is playing a harp.

The deer represent the link that the suit of Pentacles has to nature and to earthly things, in my opinion.
This young woman is playing a harp, and looking at this card, I wonder if this is how she makes her money? By being a musician or by being a part of a wider support industry for music? Possibly a music writer or even by selling merchandise connected to music making or music that has been recorded.
This colour of green has connections to one of the Seven Deadly Sins-that of Envy and there is a chance that there is the emotion of envy surrounding the one with this card.Perhaps they are envious of someones material possessions or of someones progress in business.
Or, is someone jealous and envious of all that the Princess figure has made from her hard work?

This card can also be linked with doing your homework-finding out about something before you go ahead. In other words, doing your research if you are about to embark on an enterprise, be it in business or in life.

As this card is in the suit of Pentacles which is connected to the element of Earth,it can also mean that there is a connection here to someone born under one of the Earth Zodiac signs of Capricorn,Taurus or Virgo.

This tarot card has at its heart the whole range of emotions that we have.
The image on this card shows a blonde, long haired Princess holding onto the side of a white dolphin which has leapt from the sea up into the air.
The naked princess is smiling gently and she empties her goblet of water into the sea.
The sea in this case is a symbol of the unconcious mind, which she has stirred up with the disturbance of the water emptying into it.

This princess has stirred up some emotions and some long forgotten knowledge for someone.
But this action has not upset this woman. She is pleased to have nudged someone into remembering. But what have they remembered?
Is it that someone has a message to tell someone and that they may have forgotten, or needed prompting into action?
A message is a traditional meaning conveyed onto the equivalent knave or page in some decks.

This playful lady is not ashamed of her nakedness.She smiles with a generosity to all who view her.She is open and honest.And the white dolphin is a rare creature. Perhaps this suggests that the princess is capable of some ability rare to the rest of us.
This could be an element of creativity.
And this young lady may be a student of some form.

Watching Avatar and the 5 of Swords Tarot card.

I've watched Avatar, at long last, this weekend.
It was great-really enjoyable and I thoroughly got into the swing of the film.
Just two things got to me though.

First-if I found that I had the use of a 4-5ft long tail behind me you can be sure that I would spend at least 10minutes using that sucker, and swishing it behind me just to find out what I could do with it!and I don't think that really came across in the film.
Second, if I was the main character and found that after the use of an avatar body that I had to return to my original body without the use of his legs I would be so hacked off,especially the first time,that I would really kick off and swear at the very least.
I told my partner that these things had reduced the reality of the film,for me.
All he said was "It's CGI!"

On that note, I shall look at the Tarot cards.
The 5 of Swords.
This cards suit has connections to the intellect- to ideas flying around in the air.
The image on this card shows a hill that is light green and has lots of yellow around it. There are five golden swords with blue enamelling pointing upwards to the sky, possibly suggesting that these swords are ready for action. But are they ready to fight and defend us? Or are they ready to cut through the nonsense that abounds and get right to the truth of the matter? Can these swords cut an idea from the many that float around us?

I feel that in this instance these swords are ready to protect us, possibly by warning us to take more security measures in this recession or to make a change in our plans. Perhaps take an alternative route home from work or change our computer passwords from time to time, just to make our networks more secure.Or that change in plans may just be to take a break that we hadn't planned on.
And we all know that change can be good.

And he's here today!
The Prince of Wands.

The image on this tarot card depicts a blonde haired young man. He holds a golden wand in his right hand and leads his horse along with the other. They walk down a path edged by golden wands growing from the red earth.
There appears to be an aura around this man.

The card looks as though it is suggestive of some spiritual insight,the man has a curious look upon his face and his horse apppears to be 'spooked', as though it is wary of going any further down the path.
There is a nobility to this young man.
He is brave and would protect us if something nasty came along.
Physically, he seems to be large and possibly intimidating to someone who had mischief in mind.
Mentally,this young man would appear to be tuned into spirituality. He would believe in the possibilities of instinct and intuition, even though he may not express this belief verbally.He would be aware of using his intuition at times when dealing with other people.

His horse is a fine beast, and seems capable of fast movement. This could be transferred into transport of today. This man likes his speed. He'd probably be a petrol-head and would like programmes that fed his need for speed. He may even be a fan of Top Gear! Seriously, this man would like a fast car or motor bike.
All in all, this man would be good to have around.

Today hasn't been the best of days for me.
So, as I can't go back to bed and start again, I am doing some of the things that I want to do and leaving the other stuff for tomorrow.
I suppose everyone has days like these.

But, what I can do,is to shuffle my deck and draw a card-just to see which one comes out.
Now.

The 9 of Cups.

I suppose the feelings that I have are synonymous with the suit of Cups, after all it is the suit linked with feelings and emotions. The picture on the card that I have, is of a circle of 9 golden goblets each spilling a little life giving water into the next goblet, making an unbroken circle,mandala.

In particular, this card means that I could inspire others or at least try to inspire others.
And satisfaction could come from this card. I do hope so! Will all my hopes and dreams come true?
Thinking about it now, one of my relatives has had some good news, and that satisfies me a good deal.

So, I should count my blessings and start my day from....Now!

The picture on this card really evokes a feeling of liking for this blonde woman who is on a pond, holding a golden goblet.
She seems to be serene, honest and unafraid and has something of the unexpected about her, as she has no visible means of support, yet is on top of the water quite firmly and securely.
There is a possibility that this Queen has the Zodiac sign of Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces-one of the water signs.
She is a joyful soul and has a link quite close to the unconscious mind represented by the water in the pond. Perhaps by dipping her toes in the water she displays her ability to tap into her unconscious mind quite easily.
The emotions surround this queen. Love and feelings, be they happy or sad, are in the foreground.
Overall, this Queen has a tranquil quality around her. She is easy to be around and causes no drama in the lives of others.
She is a woman in a dream like state, tuning into the needs of others around her and able to respond accordingly.

Creativity abounds!

I've been creative again. My poor house doesn't know what's hit it!
I've been making papier mache heads for scarecrows, which will hopefully come in useful later on in the year for the local show.
I'm also waiting in for the delivery of a new printer.
Why is it that when you are wanting the item to come fast, it appears to be- inevitably, the very last thing on the delivery van?!
Anyway..

Todays tarot card is the 10 of Pentacles.

This card is in the suit of pentacles, linked with the Earth element and to things connected with the earth, such as nature, the community (as a whole and as the smaller ones we are within) and material possessions which may be rewards from your hard work. The Earth signs in the Zodiac are also connected to the card, as are the colours found a lot in nature-greens and hues of earthy brown.

In particular, this card has a picture which shows a spiritual place, all dressed in green. In the foreground are 10 pentacles.
This card suggests that we should take our pleasures in our lives. Sometimes we work hard and sometimes it is our time to treat ourselves, especially to a shopping trip where we can pick up bargains,and now is the time to do that as many shops are trying to be more competitive and offer more to the bargain-hunter.
A trip to the restaurant is also featuring high. It is pleasant to eat good food and pleasant to have a trip out, so to combine both is an extra special treat!
However, we don't have to spend our money in order to get something special in our lives- we can go on a picnic and enjoy the nature which surrounds us- making a picnic, having a walk, listening to and watching the birds, savouring the country views and looking at the sky and the patterns that the clouds make.

The three of Cups.

The 3 of Cups is the tarot card that I've drawn for today!
The image on the card shows a wooden table set on a hillock around which several rivulets flow.
A cloud fills up the lake in between the mountains in the background.
3 golden goblets with blue enamelling sit atop the wooden table.

The suit of Cups is inextricably bound to the emotions and feelings that a person has. The element that the suit of cups is bound to is that of water, and to the water signs of the Zodiac also.
The number 3 in this case represents the trinity- the holy trinity of God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost.
The card in this case suggests that a celebration is to come. Is it a birthday? Or perhaps a party for an anniversary? Who knows.
The cups we cannot peer into, but as there is so much water around it is possible that it has water in it. Water is the life giver.
I have heard that folk can survive 8 days or so without food but only 3 days without water. That seems to suggest that water is vital for continuing life.

The card I have drawn from the deck today ( David Fontanas Truth-Seekers Tarot) is the Ace of Cups.

First, a little about the suit of Cups.
In medieval ages the suit of Cups were a representation in the tarot of the clergy,as they used chalices,goblets and cups in communion.
The playing card that they were connected with was the suit of Hearts as the human element most closely linked to Cups is the emotions and the feelings that someone has.
Out of the four Elements linked to the suits the suit of Cups is linked to Water and the colour blue.

Right, back to the card- the Ace of Cups.
The image on the card shows a lake in the background with the water from the mountains filling it. In the foreground is a wooden table with a golden goblet with blue enamelling on it. A raincloud fills the cup to overflowing and the water rushes over it's rim onto the table and then onto the ground. Rivers and rivulets run around the hills and around the table.

This is a really good card to get in a spread.
This cup is overflowing.
The goodness seems to seep from this card, the feelings are positive around it.
In this particular card there is an overflowing of goodness,a good person who would do anything for anyone.
This card has an abundance of joy connected to it also. There is also a spiritual element to this card, that of feminine insight.

When you just have to do what's right.

Just a quick note on what I think of the whole NOTW issue.

I think it's an appalling idea for journalists to allegedly hack into phones of celebrities, murder victims, deceased soldiers, their families and friends just to fill a few column inches in a paper.
It sickens me to think that the Church of England has shares in a newspaper group that allegedley has such poor taste,and that they may have billions of pounds in a time of recession with all the poor and homeless in Britain is breath taking to me.
And that is why I won't be buying the last issue today.

And the Tarot card for this sunny Sunday morning is the 5 of Wands.
The image on this card shows a row of golden wands holding a tent like structure aloft before a beating hot sun.

This picture on the tarot card shows us that this card is linked with the element designated to Wands,Fire. This fire comes directly from the Sun, beating down savagely on all beneath.
The card suggests that we should take care of ourselves and take precautions.
If we are aware that we are in a situation that could be risky,then we should take precautions. If we are at a festival or an outside event, especially if we have children with us, then we should use sunscreen at a high factor in order to reduce the risk of developing skin cancer later in life.It's a hobby horse of mine as I've had it.

Otherwise, if you are partaking in a risky hobby, then use the appropriate equipment. It doesn't take long to keep safe. You aren't clever if you don't use it.

Do what's right- you are a precious being cherished by many, so,look after yourself!

Creative today!

I feel creative today!
..I just thought I'd share that one with you while I'm writing this blog!

It's a nice feeling to wake up and feel positive and then get on with one of the projects that I have on the go at the minute.
We were brought up to be hands-on with stuff, so I currently have a few food plants in the garden and a lot more growing happening up at mums.

It feels great to eat stuff that you've grown,and if you haven't tried that yet- do!It's healthy food that you know exactly where it comes from and a physical work out in one!
And I have two sewing projects currently on the go- a wool rug that needs pegging and a handsewn quilt that I'm well on the way with.

So, back to the Tarot!
The card I've drawn from the deck today is number 5 in the Major Arcana, the Hierophant.

The image on the card shows a mystical man sitting on a throne between the pillar of knowledge and the pillar of spirituality. He has three pilgrims before him who have gone to him for guidance.

The Hierophant is the link for those on earth to the spiritual world. He wears 3 crowns on his head which show the link to the spiritual trinity. His staff has 3 cross type shapes to it which strengthen the link to the trinity and to spirituality.

He can link between the earthly material world and the spiritual world for us.

If we were one of the three pilgrims, what guidance or advice would he be giving us?
Would he be telling us to be more accepting of spirituality? Would he be encouraging us to use our own intuition more?
Only we know what advice we need.

This Tarot card with a picture of a Hermit- the archetype of a wise,older man who is alone-is number 9 in the major arcana.

The picture shows him dressed in a humble gown with a hood over his hair. He has a staff in one hand to help him balance, and a lantern in the other hand to help him see his path.

This light is only small and illuminates only a little of his path.

It is like this in reality.

On our path through the Tarot cards, we only see a little when we use our earthly logical senses.
This archetypal wise,old man has no material possessions and is therefore free to move wherever he wants with little fuss.
He is free from earthly ties to lead a more spiritual life.

If we learned to use our intuition better, then we would be able to sense so much more. So, to do this we have to be confident that our intuition is right, that we should learn to listen to ourselves. We should believe that if we feel that to take a particular action is the right thing, then it inevitably is.

The brown haired woman dressed in opulent red robes and a golden filigree coronet stands easily with a golden wand in her left hand.

A mythical white Unicorn stands next to her. He is nuzzling up to her hand and allows himself to be stroked.
A small fence of golden wands stands in front of them.
The unicorn is not going away from this Queen and is happy to freely be with her.

The mythical creature being caressed by the Queen shows the symbolism of a person who is so nurturing and with a maternal aspect of feminine womanhood that any skittish person or creature just cannot help themselves and approach her for her ministrations. This woman is also successful in business.

What a romantic looking card.

Romance is an attribute of the suit of this card, cups, linked with emotions and the playing card suit of Hearts.

Have a good 4th July celebration, all our american friends.

Last night I tried hard to compile a playlist incorporating a song from each of the Major Arcana titles and then one each for the Minor arcana suits. How difficult was that!!
However,it does contain a few pearls such as Van Morrisons Moondance and The Devil came down to Georgia!

The Tarot card I have drawn out today is the 9 of Wands.

First of all, how can an email tarot card reading work when you aren't sitting directly in front of the tarot card reader?
Easy!
Or,fairly easy!
The theories of the mind and the study of archetypes and symbols together with synchronicity by Carl Gustav Jung help us to understand that a reader who has a link with a querant can think about the query while handling the Tarot deck and then interpret the card spread while concentrating on the matter in hand and the querant.

I believe that it is this link that is important,whether it is a visual link with the person across from you, or on the phone, or by my method of choice, an email link. In this modern world technology can bring us all together so easily.

And that's a good thing.

And next, a brief overview of the Devil Tarot card, number 15 in the Major Arcana. This card has a difficult reputation really, the image on the front of it is so definitely the Devil and in the original Visconti-Sforza deck the Devil card was one of two that were missing(other one-the Tower), and the Devil can put folk on their guard.

This card is not that bad. There is The Devil sitting on a plinth. In front of him is a man and a woman chained to the plinth.They look ashamed and are nude. Black smoke billows up around them.

This card means that we are open to temptations.

Temptations are all around us, whether temptations to break our moral standards, financial temptations or otherwise.
This card just reminds us to take a step back from the situation-have a look at what is happening.
Are we doing something just for our own personal benefit? Are we in a situation that is too good to be true?
We have to examine our own motivation. If we can hold our head high and know that we are doing the right thing for the right reason, then fine.

This card is simply a reminder to us!

I hope you like the new look for the Tarot blog!
I thought it was ready to be freshened up and now it feels like sitting in a newly decorated room, where you don't want to mess anything up, or new carpet that you've had that you tip-toe across at first,before eventually spilling a cup of coffee on it!

Right,the 8 of Pentacles card looks like a spiritual chapel scene,with stained glass windows in the wall and high vaulted ceilings.There, in perfect balance are two rows of four pentacles each.
We saw yesterday that the suit of pentacles were linked with the Earth Zodiac signs, and with nature and natural looking colours that we find a lot in nature and with the Element of Earth.

The number 8, when you look at it, is in perfect balance. Two circles balance one on top of the other.
Harmony.
There is a deeply seated question of the universe here-who are we? Why are we on earth?
There is also a spiritual side to this card as well. The question of eternity crops up. Of time.
This card can also have links with employment, the way that you pass your time in order to earn your crust by hard work.
Broken down,the 8 of Pentacle can suggest links with employment and eternity.

The 7 of Swords.

The 7 of Swords tarot card has an illustration on it that depicts a gated exit from a walled city. There is a meandering pathway in the background leading into a golden field lined by trees.
The gate to the path is blocked most effectively by four beautifully enamelled blue on gold swords with their blades half buried in the ground. Three further swords are suspended in midair above the first four.

As the suit of swords is connected with the element of air and with hings that are invisible and hang in the air, such as ideas and thoughts along with intellect and attention to detail, then thoughts must make a large contribution to this card.

The zodiac signs attached to Air are Libra, Aquarius and Gemini.
This card suggests that something is concealed.It is hidden and not visible but it is like the three swords-hanging in the air. It may be a bit of knowledge that someone has about another person and may be linked to a bit of gossip.

It may also be that there is a hidden talent that a person has.The chance to show a bit of a hidden,secret ability and this has a psychic link to it.This card shows that is perfectly acceptable to develop a hidden skill or talent that has otherwise been set aside as frivolous or undeserving.

The Five of Cups.

The tarot card 5 of Cups is a card whose meaning is wrapped up in the possibilities of risk.
The tarot card has a picture which shows three golden goblets upon a table. They are full of water.
A further two goblets are balanced precariously upon the bottom three goblets.
There is a risk that these goblets may fall or even worse have the water within them tainted in some way.
There is also a risk of sadness in this card.

However, in our lives there are always elements of risk. Do we wrap ourselves in cotton wool and live a sedatary lifestyle, barely moving a muscle or do we open ourselves up to the possibility of living a full and varied life filled with exhilarating activities like rock climbing,or riding on amusement park rides. Even some sports activities are open to some danger, like horse riding or go karting etc.
I suppose we just have to accept that there should be some risk in living, but kept to a minimum and tackled head on with all the safety devices put into place that there are.

Tarot card meanings- page/knave/princess of Wands.

In the Truthseekers Tarot by David Fontana the knave or page court cards are replaced by the Princess.
With the Princess of Wands, the picture on the Tarot card shows a young brunette lady.
She is bare breasted and stands with a serene look upon her face while she is tending a row of golden wands that have been planted into the ground. They have grown fresh shoots from their tops.

This card suggests that this Princess can turn her hand to anything!
Though she is not an out and out gardener, she has a talent to make anything blossom-this is the sign of a true entrepeneur (watch out-the Apprentices!)and she doesn't mind working hard in order to do it, neither does she shirk from getting her hands dirty in order to be a success.

Temperance- Major arcana card no.14

This tarot card is one of the Major arcana picture cards lying somewhat midway at number 14 of the 22.
The picture on this card shows an angel.
She hovers above a riverbank dotted with flowers. She is busy and concentrates directly on what she is doing.
She has two jugs- one golden and one silver. She tips the water from one jug to the other, carefully trying to achieve a balance between the liquid in each jug.
Her gown is of a vivid gold and her hair is auburn flowing back from her head. A golden halo frames her heavenly face.

Overall, the meaning to this card is that of achieving balance in our lives.
By trying to balance the water levels, the angel is trying to show us that we ought to try and achieve a balance between our body and mind.
Are we making difficulties for ourselves in our lives by being over ambitious,over stretching our resources or just by trying too hard?
If we pull back and relax, by taking the middle way, the path of least resistance, will we be doing ourselves more good in the long run by not getting stressed?

Moderation, balance and harmony.
They are the things we ought to be looking for.

The Eight of Cups.

The Tarot card I have drawn out for today is the 8 of Cups.

The Minor Arcana suit of Cups has an overall meaning that is likened to the feelings that we have, the emotions.

Eight, in numerology terms is connected to unity.

If we look around the World, we can see examples on the world stage where harmony between countries, or between governments and the people that they serve, is hampered sometimes leaving many harmed.

Unity, once achieved, ought to be cherished.

The image on this card shows a harbour with the bluest of seas.
A hall with an open-top stands next to the harbour.
Within its windows stand golden goblets, or cups.
Sailing boats travel in the harbour and the golden rays of the sun shine through the wooden door frame into the hall.

This card is connected with the very best attributes of the suit of Cups. The attributes of love and generousity.
So, this card shows us that we should give the very best of ourselves- to be generous with our time and with our forgiveness and free with our (brotherly) love.

Just be kind to one another.

Tarot card timing.

Tarot cards have had different timings linked to them.

For instance, each different tarot card suit has a different length of time allocated to them.
The suit of Pentacles has the longest amount of time with a link to years. Then in ranking order, comes the suit of Wands with a time link of months, and then the suit of Cups has a match to Days or Weeks and finally the suit of Swords has the least length of time allocated to it, being a matter of days or hours.

But it is not just the pip cards which have a length of time. The Major Arcana and Minor Arcana have different timing effects.
The Major Arcana, being most important, have a time length which is more immediate and then the Minor Trumps have an event effect in more of the future.

The Visconti-Sforza Tarot deck which was designed in Italy in the 15th Century had two original cards from the Major Arcana missing.
The Tower and The Devil.
This may have occurred accidentally or deliberately during the medieval era.

I have been trying to design these two cards for my own use and have almost completed them. I'll show them to you on this blog when they are ready.
It's quite time consuming trying to match or at least use colours that fit in with that era.
The designs I came up with had to fit in with the feel of the rest of the deck.I just have to finish them off and see if they do justice to the rest of the deck. Watch this space..

The Tarot card drawn today is the 4 of Swords.

This suit is linked with intellect, change brought about by action and with the element of air.

The background colour of the picture on the tarot card is yellow. There is a hill with a few trees on it. Two birds are flying towards the sun which is clouded over a little. Four golden swords enamelled with blue are in a rectangle shape.

This shape could represent the shape of a bed, or of a house.
This card could suggest that if you have any decisions to make, then it may be best to sleep on them or at least not to be hasty and be at risk of making a rushed decision. The bed shape may suggest that energy levels are low and that you may need to rest and recuperate.

And, as it's the hottest day of the year so far, I reckon that resting up is about the best thing to do, today!

Symbols on a tarot card.

The symbols on a Tarot card are steeped in tarot history.
Today we will look at the symbols on the four tarot card suits.

The suit of Pentacles was originally termed 'Coins'.
This was the suit linked with the merchants of medieval Europe. The coin symbol on the card linked suitably with the occupation of the merchant where money changed hands for exchange of goods and thus made the symbols easier for people to comprehend.

The tarot symbol of wands was linked with the peasantry who foraged for tinder and kindling wood. Thus bound into bundles the symbol of wands became known and linked with the lower classes.

The tarot card symbol of Cups was originally from the chalices that the clergy used.
The clergy were respected and were in a higher social class than their flock, and it is much the same in the present day, regarding social class structure. Therefore, the link with clergy was formed.

Swords were linked with the higher class stratum. Stainless steel weaponry was expensive in medieval times and therefore out of reach of the common man. Rich, powerful men of the top social classes were the people who could afford swords and this is why the tarot suit of swords is linked with the higher class groups.

Since my last post, where I drew the 5 of Swords, I have spent several hours in a hospital with my partners dad after having the call.
He's ok, thank goodness and my partner came to the hospital after we had been there a while.
Then, I realised I had left something cooking under the grill ( which operates with the door shut,thank god!).After a dash in the car and a preeemptive phone call to my nearby daughter the fire engine didn't have to be called out.
The grilled food was charcoal.
Hence a very smoky house!

I've been more creative just recently.

It feels good to be stretching my so-called artistic muscles.

I've developed a card which I hope fits into the missing set of two Major Arcana cards of the Visconti-Sforza Tarot deck and I'm working on the next one.
Watch this space.

Also, I've added a few extra cartoon videos on Youtube, which you can see there. And a couple of playlists.

The Tarot card which I have drawn today is the 5 of Swords.
This image shows a hill covered with little green trees. Two doves are flying up towards the sun which is shining down upon the scene.
5 golden swords ,pointing upwards are distributed in an x shape.

This card is quite a difficult one.
It suggests that there is a need to look after ourselves. It suggests that there may be a need for a change of plans and perhaps discord appearing as well.
However, just because the card seems to suggest that there may be a need for change, this is not a bad thing.
We need change to keep things fresh and lively.
Even the seasons change.
Plants germinate, grow, flourish and then create seeds in order to keep the life cycle going.
We see this happen particularly in autumn when the leaves change colour to the most vivid shades of gold and red and then fall.
This does not mean that the tree will be somehow hampered by this autumnal change, it just means that change is needed for the cycle to continue.
Change is good!

Temptation.

The tarot card here relevant to temptation is the Major Arcana card the Devil. The image on the card shows a naked man and woman kneeling before the Devil.
The devil has a flaming brand in the right hand, reminiscent of the burning flames awaiting entrants of hell.

This card shows us that we have to take care not to take the easy road.
Are we doing something for our own personal gain, and not in fact in the interests of society as a whole?
The Devil card reminds us to take a step back from ourselves and take a second look.
Do our motives for an action stand up to close scrutiny?
or are we being greedy or selfish?

The Five of Pentacles is a card full of anticipation.
The number five represents humankind as it is reflected in the amount of limbs and head in a body, or even how many digits we have. Therefore this number is irretrievably linked with humanity.

The picture shows pentacles climbing up the steps of a tower from the deep dank earth up to the sun shining on fields and rivers which are just the other side of the wooden door in the tower.

This card can represent some good luck about to come.It can also represent adventure.
Now, adventure can be a good thing if we are looking for it, otherwise adventure can be quite too exciting for us!
Also, adventure can be a bit unsettling as it cannot be mapped out or pinned down, leading to a feeling of unpredictability.
This feeling of unpredictability can make us feel vulnerable, so we can choose to 'grasp the nettle',so to speak, and welcome an adventure- something of the unusual.

Summer Solstice

Today is the Summer Solstice!

I would love to go to stonehenge just to experience what it like to be near those massive stones at such an important time to a lot of groups and individuals alike.

I have been lucky enough to visit Menhir stones in Brittany,France when on holiday. It is amazing to think about how much hard work went into constructing these monumental slabs of stone and how they moved them into position.
I have visited the Nine Ladies near to DarleyDale in Derbyshire and they are smaller stones set in a circle. My mum hasn't been there yet and I have to find a shorter route for her to be able to manage to walk and visit it.

Anyway, we are lucky to have these ancient stones around us and feel part of their surroundings.

Don't know if you noticed the Julietarot channel on Youtube that I spent last night putting music that I enjoy on to it, you should be able to explore the playlist! See if you agree or can find anything that you like.
I particularly loved the ukelele player that I discovered yesterday covering a marc almond song!

The tarot card which I have in my hand is the 7 of Wands.
This is quite appropriate for today.

The image shows 3 upright wands and 4 wands across them forming a 'ladder' to the heavens from the red earthed hill that it is on.
This is almost forming a bridge between heaven and earth.

The meaning linked with this card is of psychic ability. We have the chance of being at one with our spiritual side of ourselves and could open up ourselves to being less sceptical.

Todays Tarot blog is all about the difference between a 3 card spread and a 7 card Horseshoe spread

, because it is a question that I have been asked about from someone.

The 3 card spread has 3 cards in a row. The first card represents the past.The second card represents the present and the third represents the potential future.
In the 7 card Horseshoe spread one of the differences is that the cards are laid out in a semi circle shape.
The first card represents the past, the second the present, the third the immediate future and the fourth card is about the person that has asked the question, called the querant.
The next card is about the people who are around the querant-their support network of family and friends, who the querant may listen to or take advice from.
The sixth card is about obstacles or advantages in the path of the querant and the last card is the outcome card.

As you can see, the 3 card spread is a little less complex than the 7 card Horseshoe spread which may offer more information about a situation for the querant.

If you are learning how to read tarot cards, then the 3 card spread is an appropriate spread to practice with in order to develop your confidence in Tarot reading.

Today has been a successful one on the domestic front for me. I have done some grouting on mums kitchen tiles!
And it has been such a sunny day that it couldn't help but cheer up a Monday.

I am going to add some items to the menu on the right hand side in a while, so keep an eye out and see if you can spot the difference!

For today, I have a link to a Tarot cartoon I've made about a discussion regarding the Major and Minor Arcana. It's really not very long at all, and is a bit of fun. I hope you like it.

And otherwise, here's a Tarot card which I have just drawn from the Truthseekers Tarot.
The suit is the suit of love and of emotions- Cups.

The card is the 10 of Cups.
Number 10 signifies completion- of things coming to a fruitful end.

The image on the card shows 10 golden goblets with a blue enamelled rim to each of them, being upended and pouring out the life sustaining water, which is in them.
They are in front of the wooden table on a small hillock. The rivulets rush around each hillock.
The bottom 5 golden goblets though upended, are also in a position where they also collect some of the water flowing out of the upper goblets.

This card represents the contribution which we make to the world. What do we each put into our lives? Do we give time for charity or do we do good deeds in another way? What do we give back to society?
It also represents a home.

Todays Tarot Card description is about The princess of wands, which translates also into the Knave of Wands in a more traditional deck.

The image shows a brown haired young woman tending her crop, which on closer inspection are golden wands stuck into the ground with green shoots growing out from their tops. The woman has a laurel wreath on her head which supports a veil. She has a bare chest and she is unashamed and has nothing to hide, no secrets. Her face is serene and she is nurturing and encouraging the shoots to grow.
This card is linked with an honest person who is sincere and without guile. They are an entrepeneur, a person who will try an idea to advance in business.

The 2 of Cups.

The Tarot card for today is the 2 of Cups.

The number 2 in numerology is linked with the powers of a couple and with love. A pair is needed for procreation and for development and growth.

The image is filled with elements connected to the suit of Cups- the colour blue, the element of water and 2 golden goblets decorated with blue enamel around the rim.
These 2 cups are set upon a wooden table on a small hillock surrounded by the fresh,cool, blue water which has come down from the lake in the distance, which is being refilled by the raincloud in the blue sky.
At the ends of the table are 2 chairs. They are awaiting someone to sit in them and enjoy their drink.

This card is full of the meanings found in numerology for number 2. The card suggests a relationship, a male and female union and fertility.

I've just tried my first cartoon about why I'm not a reader of reversed cards,released on Youtube!
I'm a bit of a rabbit in headlights being filmed, so this suits me better! See what you think -but remember! it's my first go at this!
It's got characters in it that I've called Lola and Jo ( I really have no idea where they came from!)

Poor Joss Stone.
It must be awful knowing that there is someone with such menace towards them.I'm thinking of her, and hope she can put this behind her and move on.

The 7 of Pentacles is the card which I have drawn from the shuffled Tarot deck.
In numerology, 7 represents communion, the connection and communication between us.

The picture on this card shows a symbolic tree made up of seven pentacles around a trunk which is made of a fruiting tree. There are 3 white doves flying in the air.
There is a surrounding orchard with fruit in the trees.There are several hillocks of green lush grass that the trees grow upon.

Photo-A lush cherry tree- we're just waiting for these fruits to ripen.Yum! Beneath the cherry tree is Mums neighbours cat- one of two,Jessie and Oscar.They usually spend their mornings beneath here or the clematis bush!

Pentacles is connected with rewards for hard work performed, and this card indicates that a reward is potentially available.The hard work may have stemmed from an intellectual aspect,some kind of knowledge that the person has, and can use in their craft or work.

The Tarot card which I have drawn today is number 19 in the Major Arcana, The Sun.

This card shows a male and female embracing beneath the hot rays of a golden sun. This card shows the sun with quite a masculine face on it, and the garden that it shines upon has rich greenery and flowers, the fruit of the union between female and male parts of plantlife.
This meaning of growth from a male and female union is echoed in the picture with the naked man and woman.
To go forward we need a union of feminine and masculine aspects of ourselves. A wholeness.Growth.

The Major Arcana card simply throbs with meaning.

The image on this card shows an indecisive man pondering over which lady love he will court.
The lady on his left is a blonde pure chaste woman, covered from head to toe in a blue garment with a garland of daisies in her hair.
The woman on his right is naked and alluring. She is a red haired beauty with physical love on her mind. A red rose is all the adornment she has or needs, apart from a few more in her hair.
A blindfold cherub is on a cloud and is pointing his arrow of love directly at the man.

This card shows that there are two ways of acting to captivate your love. You have the capacity to act demurely not like a ladette, or to use your feminine charms and wiles.
But love is there.

The 9 of Swords is a card linked with a feeling of time passing quickly by. We may feel that we haven't achieved the goals we had set for ourselves, and sometimes we may be our own worst, harshest critics.
It may also be linked with insomnia and with feminine issues.

The cards image is depicted by two knights in armour, stood in a room with nine upward pointing swords. A stained glass window is set in the wall and floods the room with light.

It certainly has not been 'flooded with light today'. It has been extremely rainy and cold.
We were helping out at a garden party in aid of the Air Ambulance appeal today. Though it was inclement weather, people still came and supported the cause, which is good as we never know when we, or someone we know, has cause to use this facility which helps the most critically injured get to specialist care as soon as possible. Where would we be if it wasn't for them.

Todays Tarot card is the Major Arcana number 8 Strength.

The image on this is of a woman with a lion. The woman is dressed in medieval attire with a large head dress and veil. She has her hands around the lions jaw.
She is able to part the lions jaws and has him in her control which is suprising as she is much smaller than the lion.
The lion is very much a masculine lion with a huge flowing mane. He sits patiently and does not snap and bite at the woman, as you would expect him to.

This card shows that spiritual strength is powerful indeed. The woman is displaying this as she exercises spiritual power over the lion.
Yet the jungle lion exercises much patience and holds back from attack, which is another display of power in itself.

We all have our own strengths and weaknesses. Just because our bodies may not be physically strong does not mean that we cannot exercise our intuition and spiritual strengths instead.

Tonights Tarot card is the Prince of Cups!

The picture on this card shows a young auburn haired man kneeling down beside a blue lake. His white horse is at the side of him and is drinking from the cool blue lake.The Prince has a goblet of water at the side of him. He is looking at his reflection in the lake.
A river runs from the top of the purple mountain in the background across some green fields and into the lake from the left side, so it is cool, fresh water in the lake. The young Prince is dressed in a blue tunic with golden goblets embroidered upon it and his horse wears a matching saddle cloth.

The Prince of Cups is using the lake as a mirror to gaze upon his reflection and also as a thirst quenching source of water. This shows a great propensity to being creative. The Prince of Cups can also indicate a message that is to come. As the suit of Cups is linked to emotions and love, could this be a letter linked to love?

Mum had a creative carpet layer working at her house today.
He was the doppelganger of Karl Pilkington, Ricky Gervais's friend!
Only, the carpet layer was really,really muscular had dozens of tattoos on his body ( glimpsed!).
But the funniest thing was his Y-fronts! They rode up as he was working on the floor and they were the brightest canary yellow undies I have ever seen!

The 6 of Pentacles.

The image on this card shows a symbolic 'tree' in front of a small copse of real fruiting trees in the background. Two doves fly free above the trees. The symbolic tree has a trunk composed of a real fruiting tree and 6 pentacles forming a circle which has two opposing triangles of red within the centre,one pointing up one pointing down.

The card represents the highs and lows that occur in life. It can also stand for charitable donations, which may come in monetary form or even by supporting your favourite charity shop by donating or buying items. You can get books that you haven't read yet there, or fine pieces of china, or give away presents that just 'weren't you' and are cluttering up your space!

The 8 of Pentacles is a Tarot card which has a meaning of eternity and employment.
In this image the uniformity of the number 8 is depicted by the means of two rows of 4 pentacles which are perfectly balanced in the image.
This card suggests stability, which in a time of coming out of a recession is not a bad thing for people.
The suit of pentacles is connected with earth like colours of greens and browns and is also connected with the direction South and the equivalent playing card suit of diamonds.

To illustrate this blog I have included a photo of Nine standing stones which are in Derbyshire.

While I was shuffling my deck I had a butter-fingered moment, where the Ace of Pentacles landed on the floor, so I took the hint, and here it is.

The suit of Pentacles was originally depicted by round images of coins and was representative of merchants who used coinage the most a few centuries ago.

The Pentacle now is a golden 5 pointed star encased within a circle.

The picture on this card shows a tower with it's top in the sky and it's footings in the deep earth. A cross section of this tower shows a single pentacle half way up the stone stairs of the Tower- as though it's making its way up to the door at the top of the Tower.The door will open onto lush green fields bathed in sunlight and surrounded by trees.
This card suggests that you have the power to captivate an audience or whomever you are with and it also suggests prosperity or rewards for hard work that has been completed.

The photo is of the keep at Conisborough Castle in South Yorkshire. This Castle was the inspiration for the Saxon Castle featured in Scotts novel 'Ivanhoe'. The reason it survived the English Civil War untouched was because the battlements and castle were already in a poor state and was deemed indefensible by both sides.It has been conserved by English Heritage and is interesting to visit.

The Court card- Swords

I have randomly selected a court card today-the Princess of Swords in the Truthseekers Tarot deck.

This picture shows a young lady. Her face is quite strong with a hint of a smile. She is black haired and has a simple gold band around her head.She is not afraid of anything and is open and barechested. Her short skirt is yellow with golden daggers printed onto it.She walks with the sword in her right hand hanging down and is not ready for action or seeking conflict.

The meaning of this card is of an impulsive youngster. They are defensive and have the wherewithal to cut through pretence.

The image is one I have been playing with and using a bit of collage etc.

Music, Sundays and the 6 of Swords

Today I did something new. Change is good-and the 6 of Swords card is all about that.

The suit of swords has intellectual thinking links. It is also connected to warm yellow and gold colours.
In this Tarot card the diagram is of a wall with a gate in it. There is a sword half buried in the ground blocking the way and one above and the others stuck in a wall.They have removed a knights head and he is already altered.
The meaning in this card is of change and of travel.

My change for today was going to watch a Brass Band this afternoon which I haven't really done in a big way before.
The Shirebrook Brass Band were really good!

A lot of Brass Bands were started by colliery bands, but as they have gone, some have still kept the bands going, and good for them!

I'm wearing sunglasses now I've finished painting!

I'm having to wear sunglasses now I've finished the wall painting, it's so bright! Thats no hardship for mum, who needs as much light as we can possibly get into her living room.Must be hard getting older and any help we can give our elders should be given.

Just now flowers and plants which smell beautiful are a delight to us. We have found a lovely plant-a nemesia called Berry and Cream which has a glorious scent, especially on a windless sunny day.

Now, a look at the Tarot cards.
The Ten of Cups.
Now the number 10 is the number of completion. Of a cycle completed.This signifies what we give back to the lives of ourselves and to others. What do we do for them?
It also signifies a home, and we all need a home-somewhere to feel warm and comforted in.

Just had a day full of decorating and email Tarot card reading.
The room I've done for mum is 'antique cream' and brilliant white ceiling in a soft sheen in the hopes of getting as much light reflected around so she can see as well as she can with her eyes which are a little bit worn and tired.
Just like me tonight!!

I have drawn a card from the Tarot deck and I am going to have to draw again, as I've picked out the 4 of Cups again, but I've already had that here this week!
Drumroll......

Cups again!
6 of Cups.
The suit of cups is linked with love and emotions. The element that it is linked to is that of water and the colour also linked with cups is blue.
So, it comes as no suprise to find that the image on my Tarot card is a set of hills with mountains in the background with a blue lake in the centre and with rivulets and rivers flowing down into the front of the image. At the front is a wooden table. 6 cups- 3 either side- are there. A cloud has a burst of rain into the lake, symbolic of the cycle of water.
This is such a joyful card with good luck and family at the heart of it.

The difference between the Major and the Minor Arcana.

So, what's the difference between the Major and the Minor Arcana?
Well, the first most obvious difference if you are looking at a Tarot deck right now is that the Major Arcana have quite elaborate symbolic images on them compared to the suit cards or Pips,albeit the Court cards of the Pips can be a little more decorated.

The second difference is the amount of cards in their groups. The Major Arcana have 22 symbolic cards individually numbered with their own meanings and the suit cards consist of 56.

The third difference concerns meanings. Major Arcana means 'major secrets' from arcere, enclosed. Therefore Minor arcana means 'minor secrets' and carry a little less significance.The Major Arcana cards depict a journey which starts with the Fool starting off on his journey and ends with the World, completing the circle.

A fresh week, less rain!

After the much needed spell of rain for our crops which must have relieved the farmers just a little, the sun seems to be appearing again.
It's early in the day and feels really fresh.

I've shuffled,cut and drawn a Tarot card from the deck and it is....drumroll....
the 4 of Cups.

We know that the suit of Cups is linked with our emotional state and with love ( I admit, I have just watched a small part of a very slushy romance film!).
The image on this card is of a galleon with all sails up, but it is tied to the harbour wall- but on closer inspection, these tethers are not obvious- the ropes are submerged in the water. Other ships sail on past the galleon and are free to move.
On the galleon are 4 golden goblets full of the water of life. But again,the images of the cups are half-hidden amongst the sails and are meant not to be seen freely.
This suggests to me that there is someone here who has a depth to them, and is secretive about their true desires. Perhaps someone is not being true to themselves about a situation and won't let themselves see the reality of a situation or someone is keeping secrets.

More Pentacles!

Oddly enough the Tarot card I have drawn from the deck today is the Prince of Pentacles.
The image on the Truthteller Tarot Deck shows a blonde handsome lad juggling 3 pentacles in the air and as 3 is an odd number and he is being a bit careless with them this indicates that there is an element of risk taking behaviour to this prince. He has left his horse behind him grazing on the grass and he is not tethered to anything. I suppose this is the medieval equivalent to leaving your Ferrari with its keys in the ignition!
And often a Prince court card can be an impending message by letter or email.So,have you been taking any more risks than usual?Do you need to rethink and modify your behaviour into something less hazardous?Or is a message wending its way to you..

And the picture today? Well, I couldn't find a horse for you so here's a couple of donkeys-and donkeys are the best!

A Tower with 5 Pentacles

This blog looks at the 5 of Pentacles.
This card looks like a slice taken out of a stone Tower, if that were possible, and on the inside is a series of stone steps leading up to the wooden door which opens out onto a world full of rich possibilities.
The top of the tower seems to touch the rays of the sun and the base of the tower reaches deep down into the substrata of the soil. The green fields which surround the tower are bisected by rivers of clear blue water.Trees edge the fields.
On the inside of the tower are 5 pentacles- golden stars set in green circles. They appear to be rising up the tower and are at the top and almost ready to break out into the field.
Pentacles are synonymous with rewards given for hard work and reaping the benefits after you have laboured and served your time. Pentacles are also similar to the star inside itself as a star has five points like the human body has four limbs and a head.
Therefore, the 5 of Pentacles is a lucky card out of all the 5s and represents adventure. But as 5 is an odd number, it can be said to have some element of instability.

And on this Bank Holiday Sunday we have seen a sort of a Tower, the Monument at Ironville, which was constructed by workers to commemorate the death and life works of William Jessop, constructor of Cromford Canal and part of Butterley Co. which owned mines and foundries around Ironville, Codnor and Ripley.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to get up close to the Monument built by locals with the money they raised, as it is now in private hands, but it has been restored with new stones which indicate where repair was needed and can be seen,probably better in winter months due to foliage, from the lane which runs adjacent and further away from Codnor Reservoir path.

The Prince of Swords.

The Prince of Swords was the Tarot card I drew today- hope you all enjoyed yesterday,by the way!-and the meaning to this card is quite evident.
A brown haired young man has dismounted his grey horse and is looking back over his shoulder at the city he has left.
He is now on foot.
His left hand has a grip lightly upon his sheathed sword. His right hand is firmly around his steeds reins.
He gazes at the city, remembering all that he holds dear to him that remain there.
His feet are firmly pointing in the direction that he knows he will go, but an indecisive part of him wants to stay in the city and he is in no rush to leave,but knows in his heart of hearts, that this is the path that he will inevitably tread.
He is thinking about this, but at heart he is a fighter, a soldier or one that is in some sort of authority.

The picture is of Private Derby, the ram mascot who serves with the Sherwood Foresters,Mercian Regiment when he came to march in Derby last year. He has his own rations and two handlers.Isn't he smart!

The Four of Wands

The 4 of Wands is the card I have drawn from the Tarot Deck today.

I tend to use the Truthseekers Tarot as I am drawn to its bright colours and the imagery used to depict the archetypes in the Major Arcana and also to the colourful pip cards of the Minor Arcana.But that's my preference-there are so many decks available.

Well, in this Tarot Deck the 4 of Wands is in front of a ruddy hill. There are 4 reddish coloured wands which form a rectangle.
The meaning to this card is of careful thought.

If there is a question which needs careful deliberation- try sleeping on it ( in this case the wands could form the shape of a bed, or a house which you stay in overnight and think about things carefully).
Things often look better in the morning, in my experience, the night time hours are long and dark and cast a dark shadow on any problems. The sun seems to clear them, or at least diminish them.
So, think things over carefully and make a measured,even decision over a period of time- no rushing!

World Tarot Day!

Happy World Tarot Day!
Today is World Tarot Day, and can be accessed at www.Worldtarotday.org ,where you can join Tarot Professionals.
There are lots of events to mark this day, including a Tarot card draw at 9 oclock to which everyone can draw a card simultaneously, wherever they are.

The card I have drawn today is the Moon card,
a feminine card.The Moon is one of the Major Arcana cards which holds sway over the feminine side of us. The Moon is involved in the ebb and flow of the seas tides and in the monthly cycle for women.

The picture on the card is of a crawfish leaving the sea to go up to a path.The sea signifies Freuds concept of the unconcious mind. There is a black dog on one side of the path and a white dog on the other side. A tower is in the background quite repaired from the image of the broken tower and everything is softly lit with pale moonlight and is quite beautiful.

This card is linked with our intuition. If we could only be brave enough we would see how our intuition is accurate and should be listened to, but it can take time to trust ourselves and give ourselves up to believe in our intuition.

3 of Swords

The 3 of Swords is the tarot card I have thought of today.
The image on this card shows 3 crossed swords of gold with their points down towards the earth.
The colours surrounding this card are golds and bright yellows. The swords block the path out of a city gate made of wood and block the route to a path meandering into the distance.
Overall, the meaning to the card is that of change.
Your initial route is blocked necessitating change.
You have the choice of going over the wall or by taking a left or right turn to find an alternative way of going forward.
This may be symbolic of what is happening in your life.
Do you feel that your progress is being blocked at work? Does promotion beckon and then at the last minute end up being given to someone else?
Or is it that your love life isn't going according to how you thought it was going to?
As thoughts and actionable ideas are linked with this suit, then an intellectual bit of thinking might have to be done to overcome your problem or block to your path and an alternative idea could be found to achieve the same outcome- a clear path into the future.

Catching up

I've done even more catching up with stuff today.
It's taken a while but some of my articles on Squidoo are updated and improved and I'm pleased with that.

Today has been the chelsea flower show and though my garden isn't even a thousandth of that I do enjoy flowers.
The Tarot card in the minor arcana or pip cards is the Princess of Pentacles.
She sits on a hillock in front of a forest. There are two deer behind her, but they are unafraid and do not move.
The blonde girl is bare chested and has a gloriously decorated flowing skirt in green. The flowers are all around her as she sits on the hillock silently thinking.
This girl is in tune with her surroundings, I feel and is serene.
She is a studious girl and will go far and be successful.

The youngster in the photo is a girly cat looking over a short fence between the already flowered clematis and an impending iris bloom.

A castle.

Yesterday was a day with differences.

First we went to see Conisborough Castle in South Yorkshire. It's really a stunning place packed to the rafters with ancient history and links with the Warenne family and the birth place of a king. As it was already in a poor state while King Henry VIII was on the throne, it was saved from further damage in the English Civil War as it was indefensible.
The visit was curtailed however, prior to visiting a further stately pile.

In the Tarot deck, the nearest I can link to a castle is the Tower card in the Major Arcana.
This card shows an archetypal stone castellated turret. It has been struck by lightening and is ripped asunder halfway down it's height.
There are flames pouring out of it and two people, a young man and a young woman are plummetting down from the breach. Fortunately for them their fall is broken by soft camomile lawn.
The feeling projected by this occurence is that pent up emotions have to have a safety valve- an explosion of emotional force where the frictional cause is expunged, emotions are let out into the open and then the person is calm again and can progress.

The second place we were lucky enough to visit was Brodsworth Hall and Gardens. Wow, I had never been here before and it is such a gorgeous place. The family which owned this had someone living here until 1988. The house has a fantastic Victorian kitchen in its basement and servants quarters and knowledgable staff on hand to illuminate the house with their tales of the family and of the building. It is shown in all its faded glory as the house became swamped down with repairs that needed doing etc. The garden is breath taking in its beauty. You must visit this place if you possibly can. It also has the cutest little pet cemetary.
I would link this house to my Tarot deck as the little decorations of nature and animals on all the Tarot decks you find as this place was full of natures glory of flora and fauna.

Hello, it's been such a long time now since I blogged, so I'm just trying to get my hand back in and get back into the swing of things again.
Such a lot of change!
I can't wait to get my Tarot deck back out and aired again.

Autumn and the 10 of Pentacles

Todays such a rainy day, that drizzle that wets everything through!
After a week beginning with doctor and hospital appointments, it has started ok and will be even better towards the end of the week.
I reckon the fair will have gone from Ripley by now.
It has stayed on longer than it usually does and was working last night, but surely the rain will have rained off play.
The autumn gardening which took on the appearance of semi landscaping has started to subside. The rest of the autumn ought to be light wood work and maintenance/deconstruction of hanging baskets and bird boxes and painting statues and ornaments pre winter!
Very fulfilling feeling.
Also, nothing quite like opening the shed door and inhaling a whiff of pure concentrated apple, from the boxes the aforementioned are stored in. Gorgeous!
We may even apple-bob next weekend!
Meanwhile, the tarot deck.
The card is the 10 of Pentacles.
The image on this card shows a spiritual place such as a chapel swathed in green, with stained glass windows, in green of course, with a tree like shape formed of pentacles in the foreground. The suit of pentacles in time span is a fairly long in the region of years. No rushing pentacles. This suit is also linked with hard work that is rewarded either in kind, or with a little money. This card denotes completion, it is the last of the pip cards before the court cards come into play. There are links with this card to shops or a restaurant. Do you work in a restaurant, or do you do your deals there? Do you give your input to a charity shop perhaps?
We could all do a little more for our fellow man by using charity stores which would help us save money, raise the profile of the charity, and would redirect money to a charity by using the store. Not a bad 3 for one!
